Aberystwyth Town came from a goal down to beat Welsh League rivals Cwmbran Celtic in this League Cup group stage.
The visitors took an early lead when Fiona Anthony found herself one on one and she fired the ball past the goalkeeper and into the bottom corner of the net. Aber though rallied quickly and were soon level when Hannah Pusey picked the ball up just inside the penalty box and her superb strike powered into the top corner.
The Black and Greens dominated the early stages of the second half and deservedly took the lead when Tania Wylde cut inside from the flank and her long range speculative effort beat the keeper. The hosts continued to dominate possession and there were several near misses with Wylde going close with a couple of long range efforts and Stephanie Land also came close when put through with just the goalie to beat but she put her shot just wide of the target.
Land though made amends soon afterwards when a shot from Helen Evans smashed against the crossbar and the ball fell to Land who poked it past the keeper to secure a well deserved victory for Aberystwyth Ladies.
