JONES BOYS ON TARGET

Ceredigion football round up.

Costcutter League Cup

Llandysul faced division one rivals Dewi Stars with nine first teamers missing but they still managed to get off to a flier with Barry Hughes netting after only two minutes.

Hughes who was back in the first team after a two year absence hit the target with a powerful shot and he was on target again soon afterwards when he rounded off some good work by the impressive Ifan Sion Mason Evans, one of five 16 year olds in the Swallows line up. Josh Baker added the third goal when he ran on to a pin point pass from Mason Evans and Baker bagged his second soon afterwards to make it 4-0.

Lewis Jones

Further goals followed when Lewis Jones added a couple but the Stars went close up the other end and had it not been for the efforts of keeper Jon Durbridge, who made several good saves, the visitors could have kept in touch.

However at 6-0 there was little prospect of a comeback although to their credit the Stars managed to halve the deficit with three second half goals before Jones completed his hat trick late on to send his team comfortably through to round three.

Cwpan Coffa Dai Dynamo Davies

Lampeter enjoyed an easy passage into the second round of the Cwpan Dai Dynamo after they fired 15 goals past SDUC. The current leaders of the Ceredigion Costcutter League were far too good in all departments and front runner Jason Jones (pictured above) helped himself to a double hat trick as he and his team mates ran amok.

There were also two goals apiece for Marc Evans, Robert Slawkowski,Tom Willoughby and Terry Witts and a single for midfielder Christy Gale as the visitors went to town and cashed in on some poor defending.

J.Emrys Morgan Cup

In the second round of the J.Emrys Morgan Cup Talybont were also on the end of a hammering as they conceded nine goals against Forden at Parc Avenue.

Front runner Christian Webster led the way for the visitors with a well-deserved hat trick and there were two for both Ryan Jenkins and fellow midfielder Josh Gethin. Mike Henderson-Smith and Cai Evans were also on target.
