The Welsh Nipper Surf Championships, Barry, 2016 .
Poppit Sands Surf Life Saving Club enjoyed some notable successes at the recent Welsh Nipper Surf Championships held in Barry.
Charlie Woodcraft & Gwil Rees both won bronze on the board, Rhys Caygill won silver in the long run and the flags and there were a number of members who gained top six finishes against very strong teams.
Some of the teams they competed against were Penybont, Rhoose, Aberavon, Llantwit Major, Kenfig Sands, Rest Bay, Sker, Porthmawr and Aberystwyth.
The Competition comprises of both sea and beach events – surf ski events, board races, surf swim, run wade run event, run ski run, run swim run, beach run, beach sprint, relays, beach flags.
Unavailable for the team pic at Poppit were Tomos Lewis, Zoe Thomas, Ella Clegg, Freya Walker and Louie Greenland.
