FIVE GOALS FOR AERON

Costcutter Ceredigion League

Division One

Cardigan Town suffered one of their heaviest defeats of the season when they conceded five against Aberaeron Reserves at the King George Field.

The Black and Ambers who have struggled for most of the season have now moved up above the Magpies in the division and into a position of safety. Town who fielded a very young side and were without a recognised keeper enjoyed some bright moments in the game through the likes of Tomos Toft, Ben Davies and Josh Mellor but lost their way in the second half as the goals went in.

Sam Branell netted two of these for the seagulls and there were goals also for Llewellyn Lloyd, Jack Chetwynd and Ianto Evans.

Dewi Stars slumped to their twelfth defeat of the season and with only three games left they look to be in serious trouble. Crannog were just too good on the day for the visitors and goals from Steffan Jones, Dan Robinson and Marc Davies sealed a well deserved success and Crannog have moved up into the runners up slot although the teams below them have games in hand.

Cilgerran Rovers failed to raise a team for the home game against leaders Lampeter Town.

Division Two

Leaders Bargod Rangers moved three points clear at the top ahead of Llanboidy after they defeated Lampeter Reserves by 6-0. Front runner Jae Shae completed a well deserved hat trick, Robbie Jenkins netted twice and there was one for Josh Grota.

Division Three

Maesglas Reserves enjoyed a seven goal thriller that was capped by a winner from the penalty spot from player manager Barry Jones. Playing against high flying Llanboidy Reserves at Maes Radley, the Blues found themselves behind on two occasions but bounced back each time before Jones stepped up late on to complete a hat trick to seal a 4-3 win.

Ffostrasol coasted to victory against SDUC by 11-0.
