SAINTS AND SWALLOWS UP FOR THE CUP

Cup and League Action today.

Cwpan Dai Dynamo.

Team of the moment Llandysul head to Llangrannog this afternoon full of confidence following a superb run of form and they will by boosted by memories of a comfortable league win on the same strip just a couple of months ago.

However Crannog have improved since that afternoon when they were blown away by a Simon Davies hat trick but if they allow the Swallows hot shot the same sort of space to run in behind the defence today it will probably be the same old story.

Dylan Evans and his men, who are without Chris Welch, traditionally play better as the season heads into Christmas and they will have to today even though Chris ‘Coco’ Davies is deprived of the services of hard tackling midfielder Ben Thomas who is out with a ban and Adrian Hazelby who is injured. It promises to be a delightful afternoon on the coastal pitch today with no wind and bright weather forecast but the sun seems to be shining down on the runaway league leaders and it would be a big surprise if Crannog pull this one off.

St Dogmaels travel to Pencader with a strong side and they will be keen to get back to winning ways after a narrow defeat last time out and the saints under manager Chris Thomas have been getting things together. Their record at Pencader Park is not good but this game promises to be another entertaining affair with the hosts blowing hot and cold but well capable of turning in a good performance and not shy in front of goal.

Cilgerran Rovers entertain Felinfach and the milkmen have a good chance to progress here with Neil ‘Mogs’ Morgan and his men struggling to put out a strong team due to injuries whilst at Aberaeron the seasiders take on Padarn at Cae Sgwar.

Costcutter League

Two very important games in the first division of the Costcutter League with reigning champions Cardigan Town taking on Newcastle Emlyn and the Magpies will be keen to avenge a 5-0 drubbing just a few weeks ago at Parc Emlyn. Town who were forced to pull their reserve team out of the league last week hope to have John Lumb available and his presence was an important factor in their win last week at Cilgerran. Emlyn recovered from a heavy defeat to beat Felinfach a week ago with a much improved performance but they will have a tougher test today against a young Town team and this should be a really tight affair as Cardigan are a much better team than they were on the day they let Emlyn walk all over them recently.

https://growitmowit.co.uk/Title challengers Lampeter Town will take on near neighbours Dewi Stars without Christy Gale, Carwyn Gregson and influential captain and chief goal scorer Luke Lovell and this will be sweet music to the ears of Stars manager John Jones. His very fit and keen young side are a handful and if they can sneak an early goal this will be a good contest but they have got to keep striker Gethin Hunter quiet or it could be along afternoon.

New Quay and Bargod go head to head at Parc Arthur this afternoon with both teams without a win to date and surely this will change although the way they have both been conceding goals it could be another high scoring game.

The match of the day in division two takes place at Maes Radley where leaders Maesglas take on second placed team Ffostrasol and the Wanderers will still be feeling the pain of a 1-0 defeat suffered at the hands of the Blues just a fortnight ago. The Parc Troedrhiw men need to win this one today to stop a gap developing at the top and the Blues will be tested.

Aberporth have an excellent chance of doubling their season goal tally when they entertain SDUC at the airfield as the students have been leaking goals like crazy and there is no sign of it abating.

http://www.bvrees-fiat.com/In the Reserves Cup, the top two teams clash at Parc Tir Y Dref where Lampeter are the visitors and the North Road men will have to keep tabs on Llandysul strikers Chris Harries and Kayne Poulton who have scored 19 goals between them this term.

In the other two games scheduled Llanboidy Reserves take on Crannog Reserves at Cae Dandre and Bargod Reserves entertain Ffostrasol Reserves and the Wanderers will need to stick closely to league top scorer Rhys Evans who has bagged 17 goals to date.
