Crowds flocked to the Crugmore race track Penparc near Cardigan on the weekend for the 5th round of the Welsh Classic Scramble hosted by the Teifiside Motor Club with riders and spectators travelling from far and wide to attend this very popular event.
Andy Carter from Vowchurch, near Hereford and the current leader in the pre 60 Welsh Classic Series took the honours in the Cardiganshire Grand National Shield, for pre 1960 and 65 machines, Rhys Edwards from Ammanford was the winner of the Geraint Davies & Son perpetual trophy for pre 78 and twin shock but local rider Kyle Noble is still the current leader in the Welsh Championships for twin shock machines despite a disappointing afternoon and his brother Keelan lies in fifth place overall.
In the ever popular sidecar event first home was Phil Rogers and Greg Wernham who made the long trip from Salisbury well worth their while and their points tally has pushed them into fourth overall in the Welsh Championship
Jonathan Randall from Hereford was the winner of the Dilwyn Davies Memorial Shield and Phil Anslow from Pontypool won the Garnet ‘The Legend Bowen’ trophy for riders over 50 in the pre 1968 machines.
The final round of the series takes place on September 25th at Court Farm, Llanthony.
