PROMISING SHOW BY LLECHRYD JUNIORS

Pembrokeshire Junior (under 13’s) cricket

Llechryd 33 all out Hook 35-0

Llechryd Cricket Club can look forward to a conveyor belt of young talent for many years if their under 13’s recent showing is anything to go by. The young cricketers who are a very inexperienced side compared to their Hook counterparts produced a performance of great promise with none better for them than consistent batsmen Jack Everton and seam bowler Manny Hodges. There were also notable contributions from Ben Mansfield and Dafydd Davies.

Llechryd were put in to bat against a very strong Hook team that included several county players and they made a total of 33 before they were all out with Everton top scoring with 12. In reply the visitors took little time in knocking off the runs as expected but Hodges made the batsmen work and bowled very tidily to end with figures of 0-9 from his 4 overs.

The young Castell Malgwyn based side have so far been beaten by the traditionally strong teams of Narberth, Hook and Whitland but they recorded a very creditable victory away at Llangwm and are learning with every game they play. Everton and co have home games remaining against Saundersfoot and Haverfordwest before the end of the season and supporters are welcome to come along and get a taste of the action.
