LLECHRYD AND CRYMYCH LOSE OUT

Pembrokeshire cricket

Division 3

Division three high fliers Llechryd saw their lead at the top closed to just a point after they were well beaten by Lawrenny 2nds and they now have Saundersfoot breathing heavily down their necks after they won handsomely at Herbrandston.

Lawrenny carved out a decent total of 164-8 with John Fuller hitting an unbeaten 56 and John Beff making 30 to push the score along. Adam Gilbert and Mike Godfrey were the pick of the Llechryd bowlers with Gilbert picking up 2-28 and Godfrey taking 4-46

John Curran and his men though struggled to compile any partnerships of note with only Johnnie Lewis with 16 making any real contribution and they were eventually all out for 109 and well beaten on this occasion.

Crymych  saw their hopes of staying in division three severely dashed after they lost out to Lamphey by eight wickets. The Preselimen posted 142-9 with most of their runs coming from the batting duo of Richard Thorne who made 32 and Alan Luke who hit 24 before Lamphey rattled off the runs in style thanks to all rounders Scott Brunton with 45 and Jake Griffiths who made a  half century.

Division 4

In division four Llechryd were forced to hang on for a losing draw against Llanrhian 2nds and this was mainly down to the efforts of all rounders Andrew Fletcher with 32 and Scott Thomas who hit 45 late on to take the visiting total on to 123-9.

The hosts who were put into bat made 163 before they were bowled out with Ryan Jones top scoring with 71. Steve Smith, Scott Thomas and Fletcher all took a couple of wickets for Llechryd who remain in fifth place in division four.
