WE HAVE OUR PASSPORTS WERE OFF TO FRANCE !!!
“We love to sing we love to dance we’ve got our passports we’re off to France” sounded the ABERTEIFI football army as they wrapped their new Euro 2016 flag around the walls of Cardigan Castle yesterday for a dress rehearsal for later in the week when they arrive in the Nouveau Stadium,Bordeaux for Wales opener against Slovakia.
Tens of thousands of Welsh supporters are expected to march into Bordeaux on Friday including a party of regular football followers from St Dogmaels and Crannog(pic below) who with the Aberteifi faithful have been attending away matches for many years. The Cardigan die hard contingent includes the likes of Alan Lewis, Steve Hudson, Iwan Adams Lewis, William Bowen, Darren Barker, Ritchie Jones and Peter Francis- all extremely passionate Welsh football fans.

The original ABERTEIFI flag which has been carried around international matches across Europe for the past 30 years was deemed to be too large under current UEFA rules so the local men have had a new one specially commissioned which appropriately incorporates the flag of the Welsh Prince, Arglwydd Rhys who reclaimed Cardigan Castle from French invaders in 1165.
Hopefully Lewis and co will be in attendance in a few weeks time when Wales are crowned champions of Europe and Kings of the Castle on French soil!!
Now wouldn’t that be some party?!!!
