BAY CUP NOT VERY IMPORTANT?

The Bay Cup might not be on the top of the list of all clubs in the Costcutter but you can rest assured that when Llandysul and Lampeter Town go head to head at Parc Troedrhiw this evening the early tackles will be fierce.
Both teams have enjoyed excellent campaigns to date but they have nothing in the trophy cabinet to show for it and neither will want to leave Ffostrasol empty handed tonight, especially after such a long and arduous season.
Llandysul have been impressive when they have started with a full team and apart from Dan ‘DJ’ Jones they are at full strength and will be raring to go and keen to make amends for losing out in the J.Emrys Morgan Cup final.
Chris ‘Coco’Davies has a talented all round team with strength all across the park. The returning Dean Jones leads the back line well and he and his colleagues will not worry too much about the physicality that Lampeter bring in the shape of Luke Lovell and Gethin Hunter but they will certainly respect their goal tallies this season and Lovell in particular also works hard off the ball and brings others into play effectively and has quick feet for such a big man. Up front Davies has a number of options but he is likely to go with the combination of Simon Davies and Adrian Hazelby, two tried and tested performers and both with pace. They will test a well organised Lampeter defence who will hope to be strengthened by the return of stalwart Martin Hunter.
The midfield is where the crucial battle will take place and the Lampeter trio of Marc Evans , Gethin Davies and Jason Jones are polished performers and they will be well matched by Ben Thomas,Terry Maynard and Ian Barrett and maybe Scott Thomas and this will be an intriguing contest. Jones was the Lampeter match winner in midweek but he is carrying a knock and may be doubtful tonight and if as expected he is unable to play a full game it will be a big blow to the north road men.
The rain that is expected to fall this afternoon will benefit a Ffostrasol pitch that is so difficult to play on at this time of year and it will hopefully have a positive impact on the football. There is very little to choose between the two teams as they are well matched in all areas and it will probably take one moment of brilliance or one lapse of concentration that will decide this one.
