J.Emrys Morgan Cup round two-Wins for Ffostrasol,Lampeter Town,Crannog and Bont.
Ffostrasol who last won this competition back in the mid – seventies have impressed many in recent weeks with the quality of their football, especially against good teams, despite going down to heavy defeats.
This positivity shone through once again with a narrow win away at Waterloo Rovers although the Ceredigion men were forced to dig deep late on when Rovers pushed hard for an equaliser.
The Costcutter side went two nil up in the opening half thanks to goals from Gwynfor Bowen and Steffan Lloyd Evans and they should have pulled away as they created several golden opportunities to put the game to bed. Waterloo came back strongly in the final quarter and reduced the deficit with a goal from Ben Marston but Ffostrasol hung on for the win they deserved.
Crannog were another Costcutter side to make it through after they beat Llanrheadr Reserves by 4-3 thanks to a George Colven goal in extra time.
The scores were locked at 3-3 on ninety minutes with George Colven netting a hat trick for the Llangrannog based outfit and Gary Davies and his men should really have killed the match off at 3-2 but they missed a series of sitters and were forced to endure a nervy extra half hour.
Bont also enjoyed a safe passage through after they accounted for Kerry Reserves by 3-1 with goals from Charles Parr, Dan Jones and Trevor Jenkins.
There was a win also for Builth Wells Reserves who fired seven past Knighton Reserves, whilst the game between Maesglas and Maesyrhandir was called off as Maesyrhandir were unable to raise a side.
