Crymych 147 for 7 (30) beat Carew 3rds 145 all out (7) by 3 wickets
Chasing a score of 147 Crymych looked to have blown it at 37-3 but a superb knock of 45 not out from Rhodri Lewis put his team back on course for the win.
Carew were in a similar position early doors with four wickets down after just ten overs with Rhodri Thomas causing havoc and sending three batsmen back to the pavilion for not many runs. However number five batsman Alex Wilkes batted well for a score of 67 which included nine 4’s and four 6’s before he was bowled by Hedd Nicholas going for one too many sixes into cow corner and he was well supported by Jeremy Griffiths who made 17.
Thomas was the pick of the bowlers and finished with 3-12, Rhydian Thomas picked up 2-16 and there were singles for Nicholas (1-17), Alistair Davies (1-37) ,Dan Griffiths (1-29) and Dan Jones (1-14).
Hook 2nds 230 for 4 (21) drew with Llechryd 2nds 183 for 5 (8)
Some big hitting from Bradley Flood and Gareth Owen proved to be the undoing of Llechryd 2nds who were forced to batten down the hatches and play out a losing draw after their opponents had posted an imposing total of 230-4.
Flood who made a hard hitting 73 to continue the momentum started by Lewis Miller (21) and Sam Rossiter (33) was given excellent support by Owens who made 66 not out as his team ended on 230.
Mike Dunkeld picked up a couple of wickets whilst there was a wicket apiece for Dafydd Davies and spin bowler Neil Croucher.
The Llechryd response was solid, with D. Blackburn (14) and Rob Mansfield (35) laying a solid platform to offer their team a chance of chasing such a big total and this was taken on by skipper Ollie Roberts batting at number 3. However the run rate was unsurprisingly never up with that of the hosts although Roberts went on to score 89 and just a few runs short of what would have been his second ton in a month.
Llechryd eventually closed their innings on 183-5 to gain maximum batting points for a losing draw and showed that not for the first time this season the Llechryd second stringers are a team capable of chasing down totals of approaching 200.
Andrew Thomas with 2-11 was the pick of the Hook bowling attack.
