Key departures fail to dampen spirits.

Reigning champions Llandysul made light work of the challenge posed by Cilgerran in this division one contest despite half of their team having made the decision to leave the riverside club.
Influential midfielders Ian Barret and Terry Maynard have had to stand down due to work commitments, Ben Thomas who picked up another red card in this game and Scott Thomas have also quit for family commitments and Adrian Hazleby has joined a lengthy queue of strikers at Parc Emlyn and has been transferred.
Manager Chris Davies is doing his best to remain upbeat despite things seemingly going pear shaped but the chances of his Swallows side regaining the Costcutter League Championship now look very remote and he said:
” After a tough week losing some very talented players it was just the response we needed and we will just take it game by game and all I can really hope for now is maybe a cup final this season, which would represent a great achievement considering the players that have left us.
“We had a 16 year old Jamie Hartley starting his first game alongside experienced Dean Jones at the back and a very promising 18 year old in Scott Jones and more youngsters coming off the bench as well.”
The Swallows who included prolific scoring striker Simon Davies in the team following injury came flying out of the blocks with young Jones taking a grip of the game early on and setting up Chris Harris to take an early lead on seven minutes.
Returning speedster Simon Davies netted to make it 2-0 soon after and Jones hit the target with a superb shot from the edge of the box to make it 3-0 just before half time.
Cilgerran battled away in the second half and forced Jon Durbridge into making some fine saves in particular two crucial one on ones before Josh Baker sealed victory when he calmly slotted past the Cilgerran keeper to make it 4-0.
Dean Jones took a quick free kick and set up Scott Jones late on and the latter unleashed a powerful shot from 30 yards which flew past the keeper right into the top corner to make it 5-0.Harries scored two more in the dying minutes with the second a crisp volley to complete his hat trick.
