QUAD BIKE RACING.
Quad bike champion Dafydd Davies of Ponthirwaun near Cardigan has been selected to represent Great Britain at the Quad Cross of Nations Event in Italy later this month writes Anwen Francis.
The 18 year old, who is three times Welsh Champion, twice ORPA British Champion, the ACU British Club Man Champion and who is currently leading the ACU Under 21 British Championship is the youngest and only competitor from Wales to be selected.
His mother Carol is overjoyed, and can’t wait to support her son who will compete against 36 other countries from across the globe.
“I can’t quite believe it, there are so many good boys out there and for someone from this rural area to get selected is a very proud moment especially as we don’t have any sponsorship,” said Carol.
Catrin took part in the Kids Race with three 15 minutes races against 35 other competitors finishing sixth overall and first in the ladies, with Dafydd finishing in 35th position out of 114 competitors as his team member had an accident and they missed 11 laps.
After Italy, the family will head to Kent to compete in the last round of the Pro British Championships at the beginning of October.
