AERON BOUNCE BACK

Division 3 west A
Aberaeron 41 Laugharne 12

Aberaeron bounced back from defeat to secure a well deserved success over Laugharne in a match that was put to bed late on with two tries from Dyfrig Dafis.

The seasiders made a number of enforced changes but they soon settled and their expansive game was rewarded with five well worked tries.

The hosts started very positively and put pressure on the visitors line and Tudur Jenkins crossed for the opening try which was superbly converted by outside half Rhodri Jenkins.Laugharne came back strongly and there was little to choose between the teams but the visitors were thwarted by some excellent defending and were unable to cross the whitewash.

Jenkins converted a penalty to increase the lead and further pressure brought a second try when flanker Aaron Lewis barged his way over.Laugharne replied with a try from Carwyn Jones but fly half Jenkins opened up a 15 point advantage at the break with another well struck penalty.

Defences were dominant in the opening quarter of the second half but a try eventually arrived on the hour mark when a midfield move between Ollie Sawyer and Dyfrig Dafis put Rhydian Harries away for a fine try to extend the home lead.

The hosts finished strongly and crossed for two tries in quick succession to kill the game off but it was the visitors though who had the final say when Tom Davies took advantage of a fortuitous bounce to run in unopposed.
