TITLE RACE WARMING UP

Cardiganshire Short Mat Bowling League.

The race for the title looks like going down to the wire with the two teams at the top locked together on identical scores and shots difference. Second placed Rhydlewis made up a point on leaders Manordeifi following their 7-1 success over Penrhiwllan and they will be looking to Llechryd this week to do them a favour when the teams clash on Friday evening.

Dolphins 2 Manordeifi 6

The Dolphins entertained leaders Manordeifi in Aberporth this week and as expected the visitors ran out winners in the singles, pairs and triples, but the fours was a much tighter affair.

The Dolphins’ four dominated the game throughout and kept their composure, conceding just one shot throughout the match and this came on the last end to inflict a heavy drubbing on the visitors.

The Dolphins rink eventually won by the impressive margin of 17 – 1 to claim the only success of the night for  Jean Bond and her team.

 

 

 

Llechryd 6 –Caerwedros 2

Caerwedros, apart from experienced John G. Evans holding his own in the singles for a win lost out in the pairs, triples and fours.

The hosts made a bright start to the evening in in the singles, but when Evans found the weight of the mat, he closed the gap and went on to win by a close margin. In the pairs, the home team played consistently well and deserved their win.  The triples was a close game, but the Llechryd players kept up the pressure to win comfortably.

Llechryd continued with their excellent run in the fours to run out convincing winners.
