Penrhyncoch 1 Caernarfon Town 1
Penrhyncoch were denied a win when substitute Kevin Lloyd came off the bench to rescue a point for the Canaries at Cae Baker
Penrhyn began the match in confident manner and they forced a number of corners early on and saw a solid penalty claim turned down, before the visitors edged their way into the game and began to knock the ball about. Danny Brookwell was first to test keeper Jenkins when he latched onto a Jamie Breese pass but his close range effort was saved.
Town were presented with a few similar chances but Jenkins was on hand to keep the opposition out. Breese was unlucky with a header that went straight into the keeper’s hands and minutes later the visitors best move of the half ended with Lloyd setting Jay Gibbs up on the edge of the penalty area, but the midfielder’s volley was kept out following a terrific save from Jenkins.
Caernarfon came back strongly after the break and Jay Gibbs tested Jenkins with a free kick which he failed to hold on to, but he made amends by holding on to Breese’s header from the rebound.
Town finally got back on level terms on the hour mark when super sub Kevin Lloyd headed home a Nathan Craig cross and the ball flew past Jenkins and into the net.
Penrhyn came back again and goal scorer Evans was inches away from regaining the lead for the hosts when he struck powerfully from twenty yards but his effort just missed its target and the game ended at 1-1. Pictures by Chris Howell.
