CARDIGAN NETBALLERS JUST DIAMOND

COUNTY NETBALL.

Reigning champions Cardigan head into the new season full of confidence after lifting the Ceredigion Netball title last term with their Diamond team the eventual winners and just pipping their club colleagues Cardigan Aces into the runners up place.

The Ceredigion Netball League which will get underway in a few weeks time plays all the matches in the central venue of Aberaeron and will features the likes of Pontrhydfendigaid-Tregaron, Aberystwyth, Aberystwyth University and the three Cardigan teams namely the Pearls, Diamonds and Aces.

At the end of last season and for the first time in the history of the championships Cardigan Diamonds drew overall on league points with their sister team Cardigan Aces with both accumulating 47 points apiece. The Diamonds though took the silverware as they boasted a better goal average and edged out their club mates by the narrowest of margins.

Aberystwyth University secured third spot and they will be looking to go at least one better this term and they were closely followed by Cardigan Pearls who secured 4th place ensuring a very successful season all round for the Town club.

Cardigan Netball club is very grateful to MD Recycling Ltd of Penparc for the kind sponsorship of new kits alongside assistance of Cardigan Town Council for continually supporting the club over the years.

The club trains every Thursday evening, whether for fun, fitness or competitively at Cardigan leisure centre, 7.30-9pm (£4 adults or £3 if under 18). New players are always welcome.
