RIDERS BARE ALL FOR CHARITY

Tivyside riders bare all for charity!

From posing stark naked in a concrete water trough to riding bareback , some brave members of the Tivyside Hunt have bared all this week, Writes Anwen Francis

And all in aid of a new calendar where the money raised will be shared between the Hunt and the Wales Air Ambulance.

‘It was great fun but as you can tell from some of the pictures, it was a bit cold!’ laughed Carolyn Morgan, Master of the Hunt. ‘I was only involved in two of the pictures and I wasn’t as brave as some of the others!’

The Hunt has published two calendars in previous years, but they haven’t been as risky as this one. ‘Some members were keener than others. Some were reluctant, but all who took part were great sports and we are thankful to them all,’ added Carolyn.

Michelle Fletcher, a hunt member, who appears twice in the calendar, thinks it will be a popular purchase for 2017. ‘Some of the pictures have been taken on Carningli Mountain overlooking Newport, others are on various farms and at the Hunt Kennels. It’s just something a bit different to raise funds and I hope it will be popular,’ said Michelle. ‘We wanted to support the Air Ambulance charity as we live in such a rural area and one day we might need its services. We’ve held a few fundraising events such as an auction of promise but this calendar might have a wider appeal,’ concluded Michelle. Some of the proceeds will go towards the Hunt and the remainder to the Wales Air Ambulance.

Calendars can be purchased from committee members and at shows where the Hunt will have a stand.
