Pembrokeshire County Cricket
Division 4
Llechryd 2nds 185-9
Johnston 186-3
Llechryd seconds fell to only their second defeat of the season despite the valiant efforts of centurion Mike Carter who topped scored with a brilliant 121.
Right hander Carter who hit fifteen boundaries on his way to a splendid knock almost single handedly kept the Teifisiders innings together with the exception of left hander Steve Smith as his team mates struggled against a Johnston attack who were well served by Steve James with 3-34 and Kevin Roberts with 3-38.
The hosts completed their innings on 185-9 and came out after tea quietly confident of adding to their recent run of success but some steady batting from the top order against some indifferent bowling, which included knocks of 54 from Ross Destow and 63 not out from all rounder Steve James eventually helped steer the visitors to the required total with seven wickets in hand.
Talented young all rounder Joe Mansfield with 1-33 was the pick of the Llechryd bowlers.
