Division 3

Saundersfoot 238-3

Llechryd 185-6

John Curran and his men who were once again missing several key players, were set a very challenging total of 238 by the hosts with Paul Mansbridge the Saundersfoot top scorer with 71 and Danny Caine posting an impressive total of 69.

For Llechryd Mark Newell took 2-30 and Paul Mansfield 1-36.

Llechryd got off to a disastrous start in their run chase when in form opening batsman Curran was sent packing for a golden duck but Mike Carter rescued matters for the visitors with a super innings and he fell agonisingly short of a ton when he was out on 97. He played some wonderful shots all around the ground and his well crafted knock included 16 boundaries.

Adam Williams, back in the fold after a long spell out through injury impressed with a decent innings of 36 but his team were eventually forced to shut up shop and settle for a losing draw 53 runs short of victory.

CRYMYCH WIN AT LAST !!

Herbrandston 120 all out

Crymych 121-2

Crymych enjoyed their first win of the season in division three after they beat Herbrandston by eight wickets with Steffan Williams producing a match winning spell of 5-12 whilst Richard Thorne took the opposition bowlers to the cleaners with some big hitting.

The South Pembrokeshire side were eventually bowled out for just 120 with Paul Nicholas top scoring on 25 and he was well served by Jack Nicholas who made 20.

Williams was the destroyer in chief for Crymych but Tomos Lewis also impressed and he picked up three wickets and there were two for Andrew Thomas who bowled a very tight spell.

The Preselimen made light work of the target set and prolific scorer Richard Thorne who made 99 the week before took the ‘Herbs’ bowling attack apart and hit an unbeaten 87 as his team coasted to an eight wicket victory. All rounder Andrew Thomas also chipped in with a useful knock of 22 not out.
