CARDIGAN END SEASON WITH A STUFFING

SEASON ENDS ON A SOUR NOTE

Division 3 West A
Milford 78 Cardigan 25
Cardigan completed their season on a sour note with one of their biggest hidings for a long time, this in complete contrast to the weekend before when they lost out by one score to division three west champions Haverfordwest.
The biggest difference on this occasion was that a number of players were unavailable and this was music to the ears of the Mariners who just love to beat Cardigan. The Cardis were missing the likes of scrum half Aaron Evans, back rower Keiran Hurley and second row Rob Connolly but they still had enough on the field to make a fist of this game.
However they were nowhere near the mark required and were 47-3 down at the break and coach Colin Horscroft was left scratching his head as things went from bad to worse as the Mariners, who had been strengthened considerably by permit players ran in tries for fun.
Craig Barnett ran in for three tries, as did flanker Sam Dolling, Jordan Roberts grabbed two, whilst centre Jimmy Thomas and Dan Jenkins and second row Dan Sweeney also got in the act with touchdowns.
The Cardi’s mounted a late rally and were rewarded with tries from skipperLlyr Griffiths, centre Emyr Harries, fly half Iestyn Crompton and scrum half Llyr Jones.
